Naissance (also known as Naissance GIS) is Confoederatio, Research Division (CRD)'s main GIS software for vector and raster purposes. It is built to be open-source, and to support historical proxy modelling, raster input and wrangling, simulation, and statistical analysis with undo/redo trees and advanced version control with user-first UI design and 3D support.
Though currently in beta, it is functional for most basic polygon operations, and intends to have an eventual focus on historical statistics, sovereignty, and gridmapping. Documentation is rapidly evolving, and as such, not all functions, actions, or APIs may be documented on this website, though we will attempt our best to do so.
Main article(s): Naissance GIS Delta Actions
Delta Actions are Naissance's main method of logging user input, and part of the backup triad (delta actions/undo-redo trees, state saves/version control, customisable autosave behaviours) built for maximum data integrity and rollback options. These log any significant changes in the current session from beginning to end, and allow users to undo/redo their actions in the current tree.
See the main gazetteer on a comprehensive list of current Naissance GIS Delta Actions.
Main article(s): Naissance GIS Bugs, Naissance GIS TODO
Since Naissance is open-source, there is by its nature an ever-expanding list of TODO tasks that require completion, as well as a list of bugs sorted by priority. Because these issues change frequently, they are stored in a dedicated page outside of stable documentation.
NOTE. This section should be moved to a technical draft later.
Naissance heavily requires fundamental bugfixing and polish before moving onto feature completion. We will be focusing on this above everything else for the remainder of the year.
The top left of the screen should contain a Scripts editor, Settings editor, and then Undo/Redo buttons, with keybinds for these items being added later. Note that the Scripts would be directed into a single file folder with names, tags, and tooltip descriptions.
More importantly, they can be opened within Naissance (as a popup dialog), but will open in your Notepad app by default. They can also be run using a play button.
